The chocolate milk was so creamy and delicious. And the paintings are beautiful and makes me really think about what the painting means. The croissant was also a 10 out of 10 ,and i definitely recommend going here.

Lovely art on display. The coffee was nice The carrot cake was a little bit more fruit cake like than the traditional carrot cake, with a delicious buttermilk frosting and good ratio of cake vs frosting and perfect level of moist

Absolute gem of Hermanus, lovely atmosphere, great coffee and the best carrot cake in the world. Sitting in surrounded by wonderful art gallery, we’ll be back.

An absolute gem of a place. Relaxing atmosphere surrounded by beautiful artwork. My main reason for visiting Hermanus was for the carrot cake - and it did not disappoint! Definitely the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. The Handmill Coffee Shop definitely deserves its 5-star rating.

A perfect little stop before exploring Hermanus on foot! The coffee is excellent, the bagels fresh and flavorful, and the carrot cake is quite possibly the best in town. Friendly service and a relaxed vibe make it an easy favorite for both locals and visitors. Definitely worth popping in if you’re in the area!

What a beautiful and cozy place to chill and rewind, the coffee was excellent and the lady was so welcoming and friendly and I could immediately tell she loves what she is doing! The artwork in this place revoked the artist in me and I will sure be back to painting again! I definitely recommend this place and will be visiting whenever we are in Hermanus again.
